Reip's MAME WIP

16 / 12 / 2005

Finished Mosaic

15 / 12 / 2005

Mosaic - 1999 F2 System

It’s missing everything but the video, which is just a frame buffer

27 / 11 / 2005

Something tries to start...

Pro Golf - 1981 Data East
(it's the standalone version, not the cassette one)

31 / 10 / 2005

Added

Wonder Stick - ???? Yun Sung

24 / 10 / 2005

There always is a trivia to emulate...

Trivia Quest - 1984 Sunn / Techstar

It uses the same graphics hardware used in gameplan driver,
but the problem is... where are inputs?

28 / 09 / 2005

UPDATE #2

I found which game is the previous "unknown" one...

Magic's 10 2 - 1997 ABM Games

There still is some work to do...

UPDATE #1

Time for a couple of Italian gambling games running on the same hardware
Sound and inputs are still missing

Magic's 10 - 1995 A.W.P. Games

"unknown" - 199? ABM

26 / 09 / 2005

Emulated (yes, not simulated!) sound in Power Balls. The sound MCU wasn't read-protected.

25 / 09 / 2005

Finished Power Balls except sound because it needs to be simulated (it runs in a Super Slam pcb converted)

22 / 09 / 2005

Added

Cool Minigame Collection - 1999 Semicom

Started to work on this rare Italian game (probably no one has ever heard anything about it ;-)

Power Balls - 1994 Playmark

21 / 09 / 2005

Laser Battle - 1981 Zaccaria

It's playable but some enemies' shots are invisible due to wrong colors (prom hasn't been dumped yet)
Sound is missing, but schematics are available, so maybe someone can add it

09 / 09 / 2005

The Coinmaster madness....

I started to re-look at Coinmaster's trivia. They're really weird. They use a 46 x 64 tilemap
with videoram starting at offset $240 and using the previous offsets as main ram
Also tile banking is strange. They use an attribute ram for every banking address bit they need (so in games
with $400 tiles, they have 2 attributes rams with all the other 14 bits used and still unknown)

I don't know if they have a hard-coded palette or if they use a strange paletteram format.

Quizmaster - 1985

Trail Blazer - 1987 (or Trail Blazer 2?)
This is missing its question roms :-(

Super Nudger II (Version 5.21) - 1989

I'll try to hook up question roms as next task

05 / 09 / 2005

Fixed colors in Scooter Shooter

01 / 09 / 2005

Added colors to Jolly Jogger

30 / 08 / 2005

Jolly Jogger - Taito 1982

It uses a Galaxian-like hardware with an additional 3bpp bitmap

I think it's missing a color prom, that's why colors are wrong

02 / 08 / 2005

Time for 2 French Trivia
They're probably the weirdest trivia I've ever emulated, using offsets in the question roms
read handler to configure which byte they have to read from the question roms.

Super Triv
The 1st one it's a conversion kit for the hardware in jack driver

After I had figured out the question roms reading, immediately it came to mind that
there was another trivia which seemed to do the same things
(reading at strange addresses, not using the value read, ...). In fact it was the
trivia I tried to emulate almost 2 years ago but without success.
So it was simple to add it now that I knew how the question roms reading method worked

Romar Triv
This instead it's a conversion kit for Intrepid pcbs

It has wrong colors because one graphics rom is bad dumped

16 / 06 / 2005

Fixed the remaining gfx problems in Championship Bowling

23 / 05 / 2005

Monster Zero - 1982 Nihon Game

The game has a weird protection which seems to test some values from program code,
but it also seems to provide extra code to extra ram which will probably need a trojan to extract it

04 / 05 / 2005

Added tilemaps to Hot Mind

02 / 05 / 2005

Hot Mind - Playmark 1995

Preliminary screenshots. Tilemaps are different than the other games in playmark.c

30 / 04 / 2005

Torus - Yun Sung 1996

Added sprites.

29 / 04 / 2005

Torus - Yun Sung 199?

still missing sprites decode

20 / 04 / 2005

Anno Domini 2083

It has wrong colors (the color prom we have needs to be redumped) and it's missing sound
If anyone is interested this runs on Scramble hardware with changes to support more sprites, ....

16 / 04 / 2005

Anno Domini 2083 - 1983 Midcoin

It looks like galaxian hardware, still a lot to do

10 / 04 / 2005

Added sprites (thanks Haze for the decoding) and sound

The game is a Power Spikes hack, so the gameplay is the same.
It's missing only bitmap scrolling

09 / 04 / 2005

Added RGB bitmap to Comad World Beach Ball Championship 1997

06 / 04 / 2005

Started to look at Comad World Beach Ball Championship 1997

25 / 03 / 2005

Added row-scroll to Ufo Senshi Yohko Chan

06 / 03 / 2005

Added

Excelsior - Playmark 199?

Missing sound because the PIC isn't dumped yet (but it could be read-protected)
and maybe some gfx glitches that should be compared with the pcb

23 / 02 / 2005

A couple more opcodes found
You can enter 3rd game now and the match goes away too!
(for the latter I still don't know which is the right one, I've some that work)

21 / 02 / 2005

After some days some new opcodes fixed the continue screen....

18 / 02 / 2005

MAME Italian guys found a decrypted version of Ufo Senshi Yohko Chan

17 / 02 / 2005

Update #3

Isn't it better to have different items?

Update #2

Now you can try to start a game

Update #1

Another one found.
It fixed the title colors and the demo now starts to run a bit...

16 / 02 / 2005

Found another opcode in Shisensho II decryption

It helped to execute correct code that centers the tilemaps

07 / 02 / 2005

Rack + Roll by Status

&

Trivia Challenge by Senko 1985

Almost finished to add them. Missing inputs and sounds.
Hopefully next days I will finish these and Joinem

05 / 02 / 2005

Finishing Joinem (running on jack driver with some changes)
If colors are right (they are going to be checked on the real pcb), only inputs are missing...

Also I fixed sound in Super Trio and found another missing opcode in Shisensho II

23 / 01 / 2005

2 quick additions for 2 rare Nichibutsu games. I still have to add sound and inputs
The bad news is that we're missing the colors proms from both :-(

Dacholer - 1983 Nichibutsu

Kick Boy - 1983 Nichibutsu

20 / 01 / 2005

It took 2 weeks and 120 opcodes to see this booting....
It's still missing few importants opcodes

Shisensho II
